Living Cross Presentation

By Belinda Leave a Comment

This week, our family is again participating in our church‘s presentation of The Living Cross. It is a combination of drama and music, with both the choir and orchestra. Our family has been going to see this yearly production for as long as the children can remember. It is one of the best ways to start the week of Palm Sunday to Resurrection Day (Easter Sunday).

This year’s presentation is called “The Choice” and is about the lives of two Roman centurions. Three of our boys are in the program this year with speaking parts. Our youngest, plays the part of the Widow’s Son who is raised to life by Jesus (Luke 7:11 – 17). Our second to the youngest, plays the part of the unbelieving thief (Luke 23:39); and third to the youngest, plays the part of the repentant thief (Luke 7:40 – 43). Our youngest daughter helps with getting  makeup on many people, and really enjoys getting to be artistic and talking with the people as they sit patiently. I am again helping with the costumes and wherever I am needed.

So far, there have been two performances. On Sunday night, for the first time in many years, our whole family was able to come. It was nice to actually get a photo of everyone together after the presentation. The second performance was on Tuesday evening and our local newspaper, The Carroll County Times, put an article of the presentation on the front page. There are two more performances, Thursday at 7pm and Friday at 7pm. All services have interpretation for the deaf and nursery is available. For our local Spanish community, there is a fellowship after the presentation on Thursday evening. If you happen to not live in the area, all of our services are Live Streamed for you to watch.

Services on Easter Sunday morning, April 1st, will be at 8:30am and at 10:45am with Sunday School classes at 9:30am available for everyone. The Sunday evening service begins at 6:00pm.
